Group of companies BRIO at Lean Pro Forum

Today, more and more companies are introducing lean manufacturing tools in their businesses in order to remain competitive ability on the international market . This concept, which came to us from Japan, allows companies to increase production, profit and quality by eliminating all types of losses.

During September 14 – 16 , Skolkovo business center Matreshka hosted the 2nd annual international practical conference Lean Pro Forum dedicated to innovations in the field of lean manufacturing. The event was organized by Center for Innovative Learning and Development, and the strategic partner was the Productivity Center of the Russian Foreign Trade Academy of Ministry of economic development of the Russian Federation.

The three-day conference brought together more than 500 participants interested in the promotion and adoption of the concept at their firms. More than 30 speakers participated in the business program and presented top cases from leading companies in Russia that confirmed the economic effect after the introduction of lean initiatives.

Toshio Horikiri, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Toyota Engineering Corporation, and Jeffrey Liker, CEO in Liker Lean Advisors and one of the world’s best experts on lean manufacturing, were the headliners of the forum.

Ilnur Kharisov, Founder of the group of companies BRIO, also took part in the business program and presented a report on simulation studies used in the design of manufacturing systems at the Segezha Zapad pulpmill. In the speech Ilnur mentioned the problems of inefficient operation of industrial enterprises and presented a decision-making tool called “simulation modeling”.

Simulation modeling is a method of research using modern IT solutions, including Artificial Intelligence, that is considered to be more innovative method of assessing the production efficiency. Using this method, the system under study is replaced with a digital prototype to conduct experiments in order to identify and eliminate bottlenecks of the organization.

We would like to thank the hosts for the opportunity to be part of this significant event, to contribute to the further development and popularization of the lean manufacturing topic, and get insights from the best Russian and international experts on the application of various tools for the implementation of this concept.
